The festival typically begins in late January and runs for seventeen days into mid February. During this time over a million people take part in a winter extravaganza kicking off with an opening ceremony at a fairy tale like ice palace built every year out of thousands of tons of snow. During the festival there are parades, captivating sculptures of snow and ice, snow slides, zip lines, snow baths, and dog sled races. You can also look forward to the traditional canoe race which takes place every year on the St. Lawrence River even if it's frozen solid! Best of all, during your stay you can spend a night at Hôtel de Glace, North America's first hotel made completely of snow and ice and recreated every year.

In our recent survey of Good Sam Members residing in the USA, almost half of you said you travel outside the country by RV. Of those who leave the country, nearly 80% travel to or through Canada. Nonetheless, only about a third of our members said they purchase travel insurance when they leave the States.

We're delighted to announce that as a Good Sam member, you automatically enjoy 2 days of multi-trip travel health and medical insurance in Canada as part of your membership. In fact, you're covered for up to $10,000 on an unlimited number of 2-day trips during the year. All you have to do is phone 1-888-237-1177 to activate your coverage.

Your complimentary Good Sam travel medical insurance is administered by TIC Travel Insurance, a company that stands out with its 88% overall customer satisfaction ratings and expert, personalized customer service.

Planning on spending more than 2 days in Canada? To purchase additional Visitor to Canada travel health and medical insurance, simply call 1-888-237-1177 and ask about the different options available for all types of travelers and all types of trips.

A bit of extra coverage is a wise investment even if you're only heading north of the border for the weekend. Consider the case of a man who contracted pneumonia while visiting Canada. The cost of an air ambulance back home, where he could be hospitalized with his family doctor, was $25,000 alone. That, in addition to thousands of dollars of hospital expenses before the transfer, was all covered by the travel insurance he purchased before leaving home.
